Practical Zones
Rail Academy Newport offers a range of practical training zones designed to replicate real rail and infrastructure environments.
To manage safety on site, all practical training areas are divided into bookable zones. This ensures controlled movement and safe operations during training activities.
What the zones support
- The practical zones support hands-on training and assessment in:
- Signalling maintenance and operations
- Fault identification
- Track protection and safeworking
- Overhead wiring
- Tram and multi-gauge operations
- Track maintenance and construction
- Welding and track repair
- Construction and infrastructure programs
You can:
- Book practical zones on their own for hands-on activities or assessments
- Combine zones with training room bookings for blended learning
