Our GEN44 interns get off to a flying start
In December 2018, 48 interns from across the transport infrastructure industry came together to participate in the GEN44 professional development workshop to kick off the 2019 program.
The workshop was hosted by LXRP in conjunction with Y-Lab and provided a great opportunity for interns to build their professional network while learning some great skills and tips for career development.
Interns heard from Arielle Vocale and Lance Hammond – two young people from the CareerTrackers Indigenous Internship Program – who enjoyed their first internships so much that they are back in 2019. Arielle and Lance shared their top tips for getting the most out of the experience with their fellow participants.
Through GEN44 internships, the transport industry provides young people from Aboriginal, refugee, asylum seeker and socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds, and those living with disabilities, the opportunity to gain real world experience in the sector.
This year, GEN 44 interns will continue to develop their professional skills to help them become the industry’s future leaders.
